In 2017, Açıkgöz completed the Master’s Program in NGO and Social Responsibility Management at Istanbul University, and in 2018, the Master’s Program in Applied Sociology at Istanbul Commerce University. For 13 years, she has been working on migration and migrants through various non-governmental organizations. Additionally, she is the owner of a private company called Seena AIP, which provides professional support to NGOs and companies in the fields of social responsibility, project management, and public relations. Açıkgöz serves as the president of the International Migration Research and Applications Association in Turkey and the EpicMigrations platform abroad. In 2024, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation titled “Migration from the Sub-Saharan Africa to Europe: The Descriptive Relationship Between Climate Refugees and Population Projections” at Istanbul Medeniyet University’s PhD program in Political Science and Public Administration, earning her Doctorate title. She continues her work as an Assistant Professor and Project Manager at the International Balkan University in North Macedonia.
